Dell launched a new lineup of systems, which will be promoted under the name XPS. The new Dell brand will consist only of high-end systems, based on dual-core Intel processors, Nvidia graphics card, storage capacities of up to 1TB and advanced networking functions.

These systems' cases will be a combination of silver and white colors and will have the XPS logo on them. This new lineup is Dell's response to the high end systems from Alienware, Vodoo PC, Toshiba and Apple Computer.

The prices for the XPS systems range from $1,099 (XPS 400) to $1,849 for the series' spearhead, XPS 600. All configurations include a 17 inch LCD monitor. The XPS lineup also delivers a notebook, XPS M170, fitted with 17 inch and Intel Pentium M 670 processor.

These systems are aimed mainly at gamers and at those who own a system that is older than 10 years. The purchasers of one of these XPS systems will also be able to acquire a dual TV tuner, that can be used to record a program while viewing another.

All XPS systems are being shipped with Microsoft Windows MCE.
