Dell, which already has two and a half years of experience on the printer market, considers that it could achieve more. So far, the company has sold 10 million printers, and it has decided that it's time to focus more on the printer and laser multifunctional segments.

Dell has come to the conclusion that when it comes to printers, the most significant profits are generated from toner, especially for the laser printers. Because the printers and laser multifunctionals are much more popular among companies, the sales of replacement toner are three times bigger than the ink-jet cartridges'.

If Dell changes its strategy and tries to introduce more advanced models at lower prices, then we will witness a significant price decrease for laser printers and multifunctionals, because the company's main competitors, HP, Canon, Seiko-Epson, will have to adapt to the trend.

Dell plans to sell about 7-8 million of these devices every year and thinks that in can achieve the objective because it already has 14 models which are sold in 30 countries. It's interesting to notice though that Dell makes printers together with Lexmark, Xerox and Samsung.

Dell is currently occupying the 8th position on the producers list, when it comes to sold printers. This week, Dell has launched two new multifunctional models: Photo All-In-One Printer 924 and 944.
