Overall tablet performance has also been reported to become sluggish

Back in early January, Dell quietly started pushing the Android 4.3 update for its budget set of tablets, the Venue 7 and Venue 8.

While this was good news for most users, some of them have been complaining on the Dell official forums of experiencing some annoying issues after completing the transition to the new build.

Dell Venue 7 owner, joltdude has started the topic, explaining that after updating to the new version, he found the tablet to be misbehaving in handling some mail apps.

“After I received the 4.3 update.. my Dell Venue 7 kept misbehaving on some apps.. (touch screen would no longer respond, some apps would run rather sluggish) ... so I decided to do a factory reset/restore and just install the apps i was using.”

“Now.. I tried to set up MSN push email with the default client (Email). (which is Exchange based for Push Mail/multiple folders) Previously the default Android client automatically set up using this account fine.”

“Tried also to make a Corporate or Email account from the android settings screen and neither would work... Manually entering the settings didn't work either even though I had them from *another* android tablet... Any suggestions...”

A workaround is suggested by one of the Dell representatives on the forum, who suggests the Outlook app in Google Play, but unfortunately the solution comes with problems as well.

As the topic grows, more users complain of not being able to access their Outlook.com or Hotmail.com accounts.

“For some reason in the last few days, I'm having problems with my outlook.com and hotmail.com email accounts as well on my Dell Venue. They only seem to update sometimes and I get a lot of error messages about not reaching the server.”

Dell says the problem has been forwarded to their Android Dell team and a fix (in the form of an update, probably) will be available soon. Are you experiencing similar issues?
