Microsoft has just added a new version of Dell’s Venue 11 Pro tablet running Windows 8 to its online shopping layer, thus providing users with an in-house choice to its own Surface Pro 2 tablet.
The new model bundles an Intel Core i5 4210Y processor in its midst and joins the ranks of the previous Atom-based Venue 11 Pro and Venue 8 Pro that were available in the shop.
Compared to the Bay Trail version of the tablet, the Core i5 provides elevated performance levels but also comes with a steeper price tag. If the Bay Trail model Venue 11 Pro will set you back with $499 / €368, the new version will take up to $899 / €663 of your income.
For this money, customers will also be getting a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD) coupled with 4GB of RAM, while the Bay Trail model offers only 64GB and 2GB of RAM.
The new iCore 5 model has a 10.8-inch screen with a pleasant 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution which is pretty much what you’ll find on the Surface Pro (albeit the latter has a 10.6-inch display).
Customers opting for Richmond’s own tablet and willing to pay the same $899 / €663 will be getting only 64GB of SSD. The 128GB version is naturally available for purchase, but it will cost a bulkier $999 / €738.
However, the price difference could be explained by the fact the Surface Pro 2 works with a faster 1.9GHz Core i5 4300U processor.
If you are concerned with portability, the i5 Venue weighs around 1.75 lbs / 793 g while the Surface Pro 2 is about 2 pounds / 907 g.
You can currently find the i5 Dell Venue 11 Pro available for purchase in the Dell official store as well, with a slightly friendlier price tag ($849 / €627) and estimated shipping date February 14.
