Earlier this year, back in late August, details regarding Dell's notebook roadmap were leaked on the Internet, indicating that the Round Rock, Texas-based PC maker was planning to expand its range of XPS portable systems with the addition of two new models. Since then, little has been said about either the Studio XPS 13 or the XPS 15 notebooks.

That is up until now, when it appears that a series of press photos were yet again leaked. Said photos are claimed to be showcasing a Dell XPS 13 notebook, which the company is expected to unveil soon.

Even with the first slides of the XPS 13 and 15 leaked on the Internet the two Studio XPS portable systems looked really promising, in terms of both design and performance capabilities. But the real beauty of the XPS 13 is showcased in the most recent photos that have surfaced on engadget.

As you will see in the pictures below, the XPS 13 has clearly been designed as a fashionable alternative to current notebooks. Thanks to its unique leather-wrapped design, the notebook could potentially become one of the company's most successful products in 2009.

You will still have to wait for a full list of specifications, but according to some early details, the XPS 13 will be equipped with a slot-load optical drive, illuminated keyboard and a glass floating display. Hybrid SLI, a Blu-ray drive and an HDMI port are features that are also expected to become available, as options, when the notebook will be launched.

Despite no details on a specific release date, Dell's XPS 13 notebook could make an appearance at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will take place between January 8 and 11. CES could also be the place for some other new Dell systems, like the highly mediated Adamo.
