Japanese wireless services provider Softbank has just announced plans to bring to the market a nice range of new mobile phones running under Google's Android operating system, and the Dell Streak Pro 101DL is one of them.

Expected to arrive on the market sometime in January 2012, the new mobile phone sports the same name as the tablet PC that Dell launched a few years ago, and includes features and capabilities that will make it one of the nicest devices on shelves soon.

For the time being, the specific release date for the mobile phone was not announced, nor specific info on the price tag if might feature, yet the carrier said it will unveil these details soon.

As stated above, the list of specifications the new mobile phone arrives on the market with appears to be an impressive one.

First of all, we should note that the new device should arrive on shelves with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, and that it will also feature the Dell Stage 2.0 user interface pre-installed.

The handset will arrive on the market with a large 4.3-inch super AMOLED touchscreen display, one that can deliver a 540 x 960 pixel qHD resolution, and which is protected by Gorilla Glass.

The upcoming Dell Streak Pro 101DL is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8260 application processor. A microSDHC card slot offers users the possibility to add external storage into the mix.

The specs list for this mobile phone also shows an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, capable of recording videos in full HD, as well as a 1.3 MP camera on the front, with support for video recording.

The handset also comes with Wi-Fi IEEE802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR connectivity, as well as with support for W-CDMA, GSM networks, and with built-in GPS receiver.

Apparently, Dell is planning the global release of this mobile phone, but will have it available in Japan at the beginning.
