Durable, rugged notebook based on Intel Core i5

Some time ago, a FCC (Federal Communications Commission) filing prematurely revealed the existence of a certain Dell laptop. This was hardly surprising, considering that the FCC has a knack of blowing the whistle on practically every product it tests. However, said filings never truly hold all information on the device, which is why it still takes an official announcement for consumers to truly make an idea of what to expect.

Dell seems to have decided that a press release isn't exactly mandatory and simply added the Latitude E4310 to its product lineup. In the FCC filings, this notebook was known as Lafite. Now, Dell reveals it as a stylish unit that combines significant performance with a durable, sturdy design. Basically, it is a high-end PC meant for businessmen that travel frequently.

The system configuration is built around an Intel Core i5 central processing unit, which can be either 2.4GHz Core i5-520M or 2.53GHz Core i5-540M. Either CPU is backed up by up to 8GB DDR3 memory. There is no discrete graphics card, which means any and all tasks will be displayed on the 13.3-inch WLED Anti-Glare LED Display (1,366x768) by the integrated Intel HD graphics. As for storage, end-users can select an HDD of up to 500GB or an SSD of 256GB, in case speed is needed. Finally, the product features an optional fingerprint reader, a backlit keyboard and a UWB radio.

Unfortunately, Dell has not yet disclosed the price of the Latitude E4310, though it shouldn't be long until this final bit of information is revealed. Until then, customers will be happy to know that the E6410 and E6510 have also come out in the US, at starting prices of just over $1,100. As always, those interested will find information on any mobile PC by visiting the company's official website.
