14 DAY TRIAL // Dell Software has launched Dell Quest One Identity Manager ─ Data Governance Edition Classification Module, a comprehensive solution which, according to the company, adds identity to the classification of unstructured data.
According to a survey conducted recently by the company, 52% of enterprises have witnessed a year-over-year growth of at least 25% in unstructured data. Furthermore, 63% of respondents have revealed that less than a quarter of their data is classified as being confidential and protected by additional security policies.
45% of organizations are not confident that classified unstructured data is secure.
Despite the continual growth in the volume and complexity of unstructured data, many organizations are unprepared to address the risks that come with it.
Dell’s new solution allows organizations to see what users access and to make sure that only the right people have access to valuable data. In case of a security incident, companies can immediately determine who had access to the data and whether or not the compromised information is classified.
“Our solution’s unique capability to add identity to unstructured data can improve security, compliance and business agility. Business owners can better manage data assets when they know what’s in the data itself, and can assign a risk level for each user, depending on what other permissions the user has,” said Dell Software’s John Millburn.
“The Quest One Identity Manager ─ Data Governance Edition Classification Module gives business owners insight into both the data, and the roles and responsibilities of users, so they can make informed decisions on access requests to help further reduce the organization’s exposure to risk.”
The new solution integrates features such as location-based tracking, RapidView summary, data classification risk levels, RapidView reports, and Management Risk Index scanning of data.
