Showing that it is at least as committed on the enterprise front as it is on the consumer market, Dell has made the official announcement of its newest technology outlet, a so-called world-class, multi-client data center.

Dell is aiming for enterprises in search of secure private and hybrid clouds, as well as any other customers in need of data storage, protection and management.

The name of the new facility is Dell Western Technology Center and its role will be to offer IT outsourcing services.

Data center management is one of the things Dell will offer, complete with disaster recovery via tools and processes that keep client organizations running even when misfortunes strike.

“The Dell Western Technology Center extends our cloud services and delivery capability,” said Kevin Jones, vice president, Dell Services.

“By providing customers the technology they need — without up-front costs and complex maintenance — we can take a tremendous burden off their IT staff, enabling them to innovate and deliver high-value services that drive real business results.”

Dell promises that the Western Technology Center possesses enhanced information security and infrastructure protection, for data confidentiality, availability and integrity.

Furthermore, it is created with the largest installation of energy-efficient heat wheel technology in the U.S.

All in all, any company that decides to call on Dell's services will be spared the need to manage their own network and storage machinery.

What remains is for Dell to convince them that its means of keeping business data safe are as good as it claims.

“Dell is proud to be listed as one of the top Green IT companies in the world,” stated Patrick Mooney, executive director, Dell Services.

“Our efforts to optimize the Power Usage Effectiveness at our Western Technology Center appeals to customers who want to consider the impact to the environment when configuring their IT solutions and to our environmentally conscious team members who participate in green initiatives across Dell.”
