2005 definitely promises to be the year of laptops, and the sale reports on European markets like Germany and Italy indicate that notebooks started exceeding desktops.

There is almost no day without having a manufacturer announce new models, with newly expanded facilities, or including up to date technologies.

This time it?s about Dell launching the Inspiron 2220, designed for casual users.

Inspiron 2200 can be configured starting with Intel Celeron M or Pentium 4 M processors, and integrates the Intel 910GML chipset with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (Intel GMA 900).

This combination clearly proves that Dell is orienting towards those in need of a notebook for their daily activities instead of sophisticated apps or gaming.

As far as storage is concerned, users can opt for up to 60 GB hard drives; another choice is whether a DVD-RW 8x, a combo or a DVD-ROM drive is more indicated.

The Dell Inspiron 2200 display options include 14 and 15 inch versions. As a 14 inch version, Inspiron 2220 weighs about 3 kg; wireless connectivity provides Internet access whenever a hot spot is in range.

The pricing starts at $1835.
