Maker of cloud client computing products becomes part of a larger whole

Dell's attempts to move away form home sales and into end-to-end IT hasn't really been doing great things to its finances so far, but its latest deal may finally help make up for it.

A few days ago, Dell published its financial results, and there wasn't much cause to rejoice from reading through them.

The company profits plummeted 33%, as the consumer group went through hard times and the enterprise business failed to make up for the losses.

Buying companies definitely won't add to the finances in the short term, so we don't really expect the third quarter of 2012 to be much better.

Still, Dell believes the deals will help in the long run, so it hasn't canceled them.

In fact, one of its transactions has just been completed: that of Wyse, a provider of client cloud computing products and technologies.

“We’re excited to officially welcome Wyse to Dell and help extend its industry-leading efforts to a broader range of customers and partners,” said Jeff Clarke, Dell vice chairman and president, Global Operations and End User Computing Solutions.

“We believe the Dell Wyse capabilities, combined with our previous desktop virtualization offerings and the strength of the Dell enterprise portfolio, provides the most comprehensive and competitive DVS solution available today.”

Wyse is bringing a variety of desktop, laptop and mobile device-compatible cloud client computing solutions with desktop virtualization and advanced management support.

“Wyse and Dell share the vision and passion in helping our customers and partners create a frictionless user experience via the cloud,” said Tarkan Maner, vice president and general manager Dell Wyse, Cloud Client Computing.

“Dell cloud client computing will develop and deliver the most advanced solutions globally, from the data center to the end user. We are and will be completely focused on the best user experience for any user, for any content, using any app, on any device, anytime, anywhere; without any conflict, compromise and constraint.”
