Dell, one of the world's leading vendors of personal computer systems, announced in late March the debut of a new line of Inspiron desktop PCs, providing users with a number of configuration choices, ranging from the system's processor to the color of the chassis. These new models were to be made available in two different form factors, the traditional mini-tower with the Inspiron 537 line, and the slim mini-tower, entitled Inspiron 537s. It now appears that Dell fans and computer enthusiasts can choose their preferred design and customize the system to their own liking, as the new Inspiron lineup has just been made available through the company's website.

The range of desktop PCs from Dell will be available in a variety of colors, including Piano Black, Pure White, True Blue, Formula Red, Tangerine Orange, Spring Green, Plum Purple, and Promise Pink. The last model, Promise Pink, is part of a program initiated by Dell in collaboration with the Susan G. Komen foundation, which will provide $5 from the sale of each Promise Pink Inspiron model, to the breast cancer research fund.

As far as performance goes, the new Inspiron line provides users with a wide range of configuration options, starting from Intel's Celeron and AMD's Sempron processors to the more advanced Core 2 Quad and Phenom X4 chips. Graphics wise, users will be granted the opportunity to choose from either the integrated ATI graphics or some of the latest ATI discrete Radeons, for those who are looking for higher performance. The systems can max out at 8GB of RAM and high storage capacity of 750GB for the slim tower and 1TB for the mini-tower. Additional features include an optional 19-in-1 media card reader, HDMI and up to six USB 2.0 ports.

Price-wise, the systems start at just $299, but can go up to $1287 when packed with the maximum hardware configuration, without the monitor.
