Dell has announced that its first Chromebook ever will be targeted at the educational sector for starters. The device was announced in December and a month later, the PC maker has already partnered up with the first school in the US to deploy the notebooks.

Dell will be bringing the Chromebook 11 to students, teachers and administrators of the Science Leadership Academy (a joint venture of The School District of Philadelphia and the Franklin Institute) aiming to provide support for college-preparatory curriculum for fields like science, technology and math.

Founding principal of the Science Leadership Academy commented upon the partnership.

"We knew that for students to truly be in charge of their learning, we had to provide them with a device where they can research, collaborate and create projects that develop the critical thinking skills they need for future success."

"The Dell Chromebook 11 gives our students access to their apps and content from anywhere and enables us to integrate learning into every facet of student lives, whether in the classroom, in a lab or at home."

Dell also partnered up with the establishment to bring to life the "Center of Excellence in Learning" which aims to encourage continuous development in educators.
