Dell just finished developing its newest 30" LCD monitor. The LCD is an actual improvement over its last 30" display especially when talking about color gamut. Dell specifies that the richer color gamut will improve the overall experience when using this monitor.

Dell says about its new UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC that it features 92% color gamut which makes the displayed colors look more realistic than ever. It states that most monitors have a color gamut that only covers about 70-72% of the NTSC surface and this amount is not enough to fully reproduce the entire color spectrum. Upping this parameter to 92% was made possible by using a wide cold-cathode florescent lighting (W-CCFL) backlight that delivers crisper colors (especially when talking about deep reds and blues). Behind these improvements lies a completely new phosphor lamp which makes the colors look more sharp and vibrant. In late October this year, Samsung released its SyncMaster 305T 30" display which had a 2560x1600@60Hz native resolution, 400cd/m? brightness, 0.25mm? pixel pitch and 178?/178? viewing angle horizontally and vertically. The new monitor also featured 1000:1 contrast ratio, whereas Apple Cinema HD Display 30" and Dell 3007 WFP offered "only" 700:1 contrast ratio.
