The Alienware M17x is one of those machines that takes pride in being a veritable portable gaming powerhouse, but it appears owners still keep running into problems when trying to play games on it.

Those end-users that keep tabs on the IT market will know that, while laptops cover a wide range of consumers, the truly powerful ones always stand out most.

Basically, top-grade mobile computers are not only very powerful, but also designed with visual embellishments, usually at least.

This is the case with the Alenware M17x, a certain, quite mighty laptop developed and sold worldwide by Dell.

Not long ago, this very mobile computer ran into a DPC latency issue, which has since been resolved.

Unfortunately, it seems that said issue was not the only one present, as another one came to light after that one was taken care of.

According to users on the Notebook Review Forums, there seem to exist some problems more or less similar to the stuttering caused by DPC latency, but they are caused by something else.

As the users on said forum claim to have discovered, the unfortunate problems are caused by insufficient power.

To be more specific, the GPU ends up drawing more energy than the laptop can give it, which essentially makes games more or less unplayable.

While aggravating, the issue turned out to be even worse because it got more serious the stronger the machine got, meaning that those who paid more for higher-end components are the worst off.

Dell is said to have resolved the issue on its most recent revision, but whether or not affected users will get replacement machines is something that the members of the Notebook Review forums are unsure about.

Considering that replacement notebooks are the only-so-called 'fix' available, one might expect Dell to do its best to appease its customers, but nothing is guaranteed yet.
