The beta for Delicious Library 2 is over. As a result of that, Delicious Monster proudly announced the availability of Delicious Library 2.0 for $40. The visual card-catalog is also available in the form of a free demo. Version 2.0 packs a huge amount of improvements and new features.

Delicious Library provides Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard users with a bunch of digital shelves on which they can place their books, movies, music and video games to keep better track of them, lend them to a friend, or publish the whole library to the web. You simply need to scan the barcode and Delicious Library adds the item to your digital shelves, downloading tons of info about it from the internet, such as the author, the product's release date, current value, description and a high-res picture of the cover.

You can import your entire library using Delicious Monster's iSight video barcode scanner or Flic Wireless Laser Bar Code Scanner. The developers also thought of those who would like to enter titles by hand instead of buying extra hardware, and they granted them this option too. Browsing though your digital shelves is also intuitive and fun and, when you get bored, Delicious Library helps you find new items to read, watch, and play with recommendations.

With the just-released Delicious Library 2.0 you can:

- Publish to the web with one click; - Publish to other Delicious Library 2 users; - Browse categories such as tools, toys, software, gadgets, and apparel, which come to join books, music, videos, and videogames from version one; - Cover view change; - See user-created shelves appearing in alphabetical order, instead of in order of creation; - use it with Apple Remote; - use a new horizontal Details pane; - use speech Input; - use currency conversion (due to a "last-minute change in Leopard," Delicious Monster says that the currency conversion feature requires that you have launched the Dashboard conversion widget at least once).

iSight scanning is now much easier with the new guides, while bluetooth scanners now auto-pair and auto-connect when enabled. These are just some of the new features and tweaks available with version 2.0 of Delicious Library (now we can see why the developers took their time releasing the latest version).
