Yahoo-owned social bookmarking site Delicious has announced a plethora of new features and improvements anticipating some of the trends like the “real-time” web. The new version brings more than just the usual set of fixes and tweaks and ads much improved search filters and graphs, a mobile version of the site optimized for the iPhone as well as some interesting social media features.

“We also noticed that quite often while narrowing your search criteria, it can be extremely frustrating to not get the exact level of granularity you want. Most sites give you some pretty plain text boxes on their advanced search page to refine your search by dates, but we figured that was sooo 1995!,” Delicious' Simon Davison explains the new search feature.

“So, we also added an interactive graph for periods more than 24 hours from the current time. Just click the graph, select the start and end points and click the ‘search’ button to refine your search by the highlighted time frame,” he added.

The date filter, which limits the search results to just the period of time the users selects, has been improved to allow for a much finer granularity enabling users to search for results within just a few minutes rather than days. All they have to do is select the time frame in the graph to the right and perform the search.

Along with the new search options come even more graphs, which now show up in the URL details pages as well as in the new Tagometer badge. Speaking of the URL details pages, data links can now be saved and displayed in a much more eye-pleasing manner, using a graph of course. Another interesting option for the social media enthusiasts is the option to see where they shared their bookmarks and with who, allowing them to see the links they sent through Twitter for example.
