The ruling is out in the murder and rape case of four men brutally abusing a woman in New Delhi in December.

Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna has ruled that all four men accused of the crime deserve the death penalty, which, in India, means that they will be hanged.

The judge stresses that his verdict should stand as an example of what will happen to those committing violent crimes against women.

"Death to all," he says, according to a Mid-Day report on the gang rape sentence.

The incident has prompted protests and complaints about a lack of security on the streets of India. It has also affected tourism in the area, with the number of foreign visitors dropping several percent.

The four men have also been convicted of unnatural offenses, attempted murder in the serious beating of a man accompanying the female victim, hiding evidence, conspiracy and kidnapping with a murderous purpose.
