Students in the Red Clay School District in Delaware have managed to put together the world's tallest LEGO tower.

The project was supervised by Assistant Superintendent Ted Ammann, who asked the community for donations in the form of LEGO bricks.

Based on a metal cylinder and kept together by wiring in the interior section, the tower stands 112 feet 11 ¾ inches (34.43 meters) high. It is located in front of John Dickinson High School, near Wilmington.

Delaware Online describes over half a million bricks going into the construction. It is more than 10-stories high and it weighs over a ton (2,200 pounds).

“You know when you’re talking about a world record it’s going to be big. But seeing it now, it’s really cool,” student Ralph Storner describes.

Reps for the Guinness Book of World Records were on site to award the title after the last piece was laid out.
