With the global price of copper being over five times what it used to be a decade ago, we all got used with high prices for high-performance computer cooling solutions. Cooling expert DeepCool is now attempting to prove us wrong, and the product they use in this endeavor is the DeepCool Aeolus.
This is a tower cooler featuring two powerful 120-millimeter fans that spin at variable speeds.
The new Aeolus tower cooler from DeepCool features six heatpipes that have a 6-millimeter diameter.
We don’t understand why cooler makers still use heatpipes with this diameter size, as it’s clear that pipes with an 8-millimeter diameter give out much better performance while lowering the device weight overall.
It’s very likely that five 8-mm heatpipes would have made Aeolus lighter, while helping it achieve even better cooling performance.
It's compatible with AMD's AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2, and FM2/FM1 sockets as well as Intel's LGA2011, LGA1155/LGA1156, LGA1366, LGA775.
Unlike most such big coolers, the DeepCool Aeolus is reportedly priced well below the $50 mark.
DeepCool’s Aeolus is thus slated at $32, which is about €26 for European buyers.
