The “Green Dungeon” will be part of the open beta

Capcom has multiple titles in production for the next few years, but 2015 may be one of the best years for Dark Souls fans, as at least two games with the same unforgiving gameplay mechanics are expected to be released next year.

From Software’s Bloodborne should hit PlayStation 4 in late March, while Capcom’s Deep Down game has yet to receive a release date.

Deep Down was supposed to be a PlayStation 4 launch title, but due to the slow development, it got delayed into 2015. Moreover, the first open beta for Deep Down should have been kicked off sometime this year, but once again developers decided that the game needs more polishing.

In an attempt to make things right with those who are still waiting to get into the promised open beta of Deep Down, Capcom’s producer Kazuhiro Sugiura published a letter to fans apologizing for the delay and promising to do everything possible to make Deep Down worthy of gamers’ expectations.

Here is the translation of Sugiura’s message posted on the game’s official Facebook page:

“This is the producer, Sugiura. I'm deeply sorry for not being able to start the public beta in 2014. The other day we did the last development check for the year.

The multiplayer's fun is what we consider the most important part of the game, so I'm relieved that I've got the approval even from my boss, Mr Ono.  In 2015 too I'll do my best to make sure Deep Down is up to your expectations.

For the end of the year I decided to post 2 screenshots. It's the "green dungeon" a place you'll find in the first open beta. Let's keep up the good work.”

Four new screenshots show some zones accessible in open beta

Along with the above message, Sugiura also published two more screenshots taken from Capcom’s upcoming Deep Down game. The screenshots represent one of the dungeons that people will be able to enter once the open beta is live.

It’s called the Green Dungeon and will probably be inhabited by easier-to-defeat monsters in order to allow players to get the feel of the game.

Two more brand new screenshots have been published on Deep Down official website and we have already included those in the gallery below.

They may have been taken from another zone in the game because the environment doesn’t look green, just like in the other two screenshots that have been taken from the Green Dungeon.

Unfortunately, Sugiura still doesn’t shed any light on when exactly fans of the genre will be able to register for the open beta nor on when the game might be released.
