Since her divorce from Michael Jackson in 1999, after less than three years of marriage, Debbie Rowe has been living out of the spotlight. As of late, she made headlines because of daughter Paris Jackson’s emergency hospitalization and subsequent rehab stint, and her attempts at mending the relationship but, this time, it’s with happy news that she does it again: she’s engaged!

The photo above was posted to Debbie’s Facebook account. It doesn’t say anything of an engagement, even if the pose is one that celebrities typically use to break this type of news. “Hangin around with Marc,” Debbie says in the description.

Marc is music producer Marc Schaffel, who has worked with some of the biggest artists out there, including Michael Jackson himself. In fact, according to various reports, the two were famously close friends as well.

E! News says that, while Debbie isn’t shouting it out from rooftops, this is her way of breaking the engagement news to the world. On the engagement finger, she’s sporting a massive diamond ring that the e-zine puts at 3.55 carats, which Schaffel reportedly presented her with when he popped the big question just recently.

“A source tells E! News that Debbie Rowe and Marc Schaffel have been planning their engagement for a long time. The insider adds that the two have been together for a while and have been actively discussing marriage,” the report says.

Apparently, Debbie and Marc have been very good friends for years but only recently became romantically involved as well. Things have been so great between them that they’ve also started about the possibility of getting married to start a family and, of course, grow old together.

In an update to the story, the same media outlet adds that Marc’s proposal came just minutes before the photo was taken and posted on social media. At the time Debbie did that, not even her family or friends knew about it.

“There hasn't been an official announcement [to friends and family]. They wanted to take it slow and there's no rush,” the insider reveals for E!.

However, before you rush to congratulate Debbie, consider this: TMZ claims to have spoken with her about the so-called engagement and, instead of confirmation, she just laughed because she found the rumor ridiculous. Apparently, the fact that she posed with her hand on Marc’s chest, the hand which just happened to have a very engagement-looking diamond ring on it, was just a coincidence.

As hilarious as TMZ claims Debbie found the engagement report, she’s yet to offer a clarification on Facebook even though the congratulatory messages have been pouring in.
