What’s going on at home is sadder than what we see on camera

Dean McDermott’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, agreed to make a few appearances on his and Tori Spelling’s Lifetime docuseries True Tori, season 2, and was reportedly paid a lot for it. However, what she would not say on camera, she now says in an interview with InTouch Weekly.

And it’s not pretty.

According to Mary Jo, what we see on True Tori isn’t even half as bad as what happens when the cameras are not rolling or before editing: things between Tori and Dean are very bad, and Tori needs rehab.

“So incredibly sad and disconcerting”

Mary Jo is getting another paycheck by speaking with the glossies about her experience while shooting for True Tori, and the revelations she’s making are quite shocking. Apparently, the drama we see on the show isn’t exaggerated in a bid to get better ratings: what happens at home is actually worse than what makes it on screen.

“Tori needs rehab more than him,” Mary Jo says. “She needs serious help for the hoarding issue — she’s admitted her kids aren’t even fazed by her extended hospital stays anymore. And all their fighting in front of the children — it’s so dark.”

Perhaps the most troubling part is the fact that Tori and Dean fight all the time, even if their 4 kids happen to be around. They fight over anything and everything – as we’ve seen on the show, they even got into an explosive argument over the “right” way to bake a potato in the microwave.

Things at home are bad and they will continue to be this way until Tori gets help, Mary Jo hints. She describes her as terribly insecure and paranoid, but most of all, the type that hides her head in the sound to avoid facing her real issues – and solving them.

Tori’s favorite pastime is to lay the blame for everything that’s wrong in her life on her parents, Mary Jo says. She needs to stop doing that and claim responsibility for her own faults.

Tori will continue on reality television

Dean has already said that he would not shoot for more episodes of True Tori, assuming Lifetime orders a third episode of the series, because he’s tired of opening his life like this and then get criticized for it.

Tori, on the other hand, will continue on camera because, at this point, it’s all she knows and she’s got going on for her, since her acting career isn’t exactly going places. It remains to be seen how producers will manage to shoot a reality show with Tori but without her husband, but she for one, is convinced that it’s possible.

A terrible 2014 for Tori

Assuming all we’ve read and seen of Tori’s life this year, 2014 was the suckiest year of her life. First of all, she found out that her husband had cheated on her with some random woman he picked up in Canada, and then she learned that his drug and alcohol addictions had kicked in high gear again, and that he was struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts.

Tori was also hospitalized several times this year, after all the marital stress took a toll on her health, and she’s seen her TV career reach a dead end, when “Mystery Girls” was canceled.

On the bright side, at least she got to work through some issues at home and she relieved some of her financial concerns, thanks to the partnership with Lifetime. And whether she likes to admit to it or not, Tori is back in the spotlight thanks to this reality show – so with all the bad, she did get some good too.
