After working together on Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Arc Rise Fantasia, Ignition and Marvelous Entertainment, the two publishers, are now teaming up to bring us a survival horror. Deadly Premonition is a third-person horror developed by Access Games for the Xbox 360. Very pleased with the two publishers and their previous performances, Access Games Director Hidetaka Suehiro is overjoyed to have them publish Deadly Premonition.

"Ignition Entertainment has done an incredible job finding and targeting each game's primary audience and we could not be more excited to team up with them to publish Deadly Premonition," Suehiro said. "We've developed the graphic styling and game play of Deadly Premonition to uniquely trigger the suspenseful emotions in every player. We promise an astounding ending if you can meet the challenge to solve the mystery and make it there."

From the teaser trailer, the game's graphics look a little choppy, especially for an upcoming title, but that doesn't really matter that much. A survival horror is purely about the emotion, the sensation of fear and how well it manages to relay that feeling, and top-of-the-line graphics have little to do with that. The one thing the title needs to rely on to be a proper horror game is the story and the atmosphere that is better generated by lighting effects and by the soundtrack, and less by perfect geometry and excellent shading.

Deadly Premonition will follow the exploits of FBI Agent Francis York Morgan, as he investigates "a series of interlocking mysteries in a remote rural town." The game appears to make use of gameplay mechanics such as stealth, third-person shooting, vehicle elements and popular quick-time events to get out of hairy situations. The two publishers, Ignition and Marvelous, are the ones that will bring the game in America on Microsoft's Xbox 360 console, and, even though it doesn't have an official release date, it does seem like it will be something to look forward to.
