14 DAY TRIAL // Although it's still going to be a little while until we get our hands on the game, developer Team Ninja has released the launch trailer for the upcoming Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.
The game looks pretty good, and the video, available below, is sort of a character showcase, gameplay trailer, and jiggling physics highlight reel, all in one.
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round certainly looks flashy, especially with the various stage interactions and its tag team mode, and will also introduce a number of new characters, Marie Rose, Phase-4, Nyotengu and Honoka, as well as Raidou, the first game in the series' boss, making a comeback as a cyborg.
The game will bring together the largest roster of playable characters, alongside the largest collection of costumes to date, said to encompass around 300 different outfits for the warriors to don while knocking each other's teeth out.
Furthermore, any downloadable content packs purchased for Dead or Alive: Ultimate will be transferable to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the upcoming title, from the last-generation machines.
Release dates and different offers
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is scheduled to launch on February 17/20, coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and later on, on March 30, on Steam for PC.
The game will also have free demos on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live, allowing gamers to try out the new characters. The PC edition of the game will launch without online multiplayer support, which is scheduled to arrive via a patch around three months after release.
While players will be able to expand the PlayStation Store demo edition of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, dubbed Core Fighters, through microtransactions, things are a little different on Xbox Live.
Xbox owners will have to buy the Core Fighters edition, which will grant them access to four extra characters, after which further microtransactions will become available.
