Video game publisher Electronic Arts and Anchor Bay Entertainment have announced that the Aftermath Dead Space based animation movie will be released on the same date as the new shooter on January 25, allowing fans of the series to get a new perspective on the events that took place on Aegis VII.

Aftermatch will use four different view points to tell the story of the O'Bannon, the first responder ship that has reached the USG Ishimura, the planet cracking ship that has suddenly gone dark.

The four survivors are all that is left of the crew and each of them will offer information on what happened to the ship and what that means for the in-game universe.

The animated feature will be heavy on the horror, as are the Dead Space video games.

Animation and production duties will be handled by Film Roman, with previous work experience including “King of the Hill” and “The Simpsons,” while the producer and supervising director of the first Dead Space animated feature are making a comeback.

The voice cast for Aftermath includes: Christopher Judge from “Stargate: SG-1,” Peter Woodward known from “Babylon 5,” Graham McTavish, who will star in the new The Hobbit movie, Ricardo Chavira seen in “Desperate Housewives” and Gwendoline Yeo, known from “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

Gamers who are interested in Dead Space as a franchise and plan to pick up Aftermath can get it on Blu-ray for 19.99 dollars or on DVD for 15.99.

The Dead Space 2 video game will see former engineer Isaac Clarke reach a space installation known as The Sprawl, affected by mental problems and ready to face a new alien assault.

The new game will offer the same dismemberment battle mechanics and all new tools for the job.

Dead Space 2 will be released on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC.
