Zombie game manages to keep first place alive for second week

The zombie powered Dead Island from video game publisher Deep Silver and developer Techland has managed to get yet another week at the top of the United Kingdom chart and is preparing to cede the position next week to the mighty juggernaut that is Gears of War 3 from Microsoft and Epic Games.

Dead Island sees the player stranded on a tropical paradise just as a zombie outbreak takes place and the only way to escape is to battle his way through the entire island, searching for survivors and for weapons.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, the third person shooter from developer Relic and publisher THQ, has managed to also keep its second place while Resistance 3, the very personal take on an alien invasion created by Insomniac for Sony, has managed to go up one position in the United Kingdom, now sitting pretty on the last place of the podium.

Driver: San Francisco, the Ubisoft published racing game which uses body surfing as a gameplay mechanics, has slid down one place in order to end up in fourth while Deus Ex: Human Revolution continues to put in a strong performance by keeping hold of fifth place.

Zumba Fitness might no longer challenge for the top position these days, after dominating the chart throughout the summer, but it has managed to stay in sixth place in the United Kingdom.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean from Disney Interactive Studios is in seventh place, up one position when compared to last week, while Rugby World Cup 2011 from 505 Games has went down one position.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1 – 4 from Warner Bros. Interactive has managed to jump to ninth position coming from 15 while Cars 2, another game based on a movie, closes down the United Kingdom top ten.

Rise of Nightmares from SEGA has debuted outside of the first ten positions.
