Marketcircle has just announced the introduction of Daylite 3.7.2, the company's new generation productivity management software, which now merges .doc, .docx, .xls and .xlsx files from Microsoft Word and Excel 2008 for Mac. Version 3.7.2 automatically previews Calendar appointment details, scrolls daily appointments without having to switch to Day view, but also comes with a law template with tips for the legal profession.

New in Daylite 3.7.2, according to Marketcircle:

- Appointment detail view in the lower right of the calendar. Now you no longer have to open the appointment card to see all the details.

- Appointment scrolling in the month view. Now you no longer have to go to the day view to see those extra appointments that don't fit in a day in the month view. You can scroll now to see them all. Scroll wheel and trackpad gestures also supported.

- We've significantly improved the resources aspect of the calendar. You can now include Resources (projector, boardroom, etc?) in smart calendars or command-select them along with users in the Users and Resources disclosure.

- You can merge letters with Word 2008 and Excel 2008. Thanks to some improvements in Word 2008, we've been able to eek out some good speed improvements.

- Thanks to a bunch of people on our forums and the MacLaw group, we've been able to put together and include a database template for the legal industry.

- DMI has also been updated to 2.1.2 to address a minor resizing bug on Leopard.

As far as that new law database template goes, it is designed to enable lawyers, attorneys, and legal professionals understand how Daylite can simplify their workflow and organize their information, through tips. It covers all the stages of case management including the first contact with a client to the final billing process. Users can customize the template completely, according to the developers.

The template consists of sample data such as projects, pipelines, forms, activity sets, categories, keywords, roles, relationships and more information about the legal profession. These help set up your real cases in Daylite, grouping information for easy retrieval, to ultimately improve productivity.

Daylite integrates with Apple Mail and works with iSync to bring Daylite contacts and calendar features to iPhone, iPod, Blackberry, Palm, Windows Mobile devices and of course cellphones.
