The evolved apes are making a return to the big screen this summer

The teaser manages to do just what its name implies – tease, as a very short action sequence shows a dense forest scenery rippling with rain and then a man's voice shouting the words “I need to speak to Caesar.”

For those who don't remember, Caesar was the first evolved ape from the test group who ends up leading the monkey rebellion in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” Apparently, he's still the leader in this one as well.

In the film that will debut in theaters on June 11, 2014, the group of apes led by Caesar is threatened by a group of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed 10 years before. The two sides reach a temporary peace that ends as soon as they enter in what could be the race to determine Earth's new dominant species.

That should get you pumped enough to keep checking for the official trailer to be released, something that's bound to happen any day now. “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is the sequel to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and will again feature Andy Serkis as Caesar, as well as Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and Keri Russell among others as the human survivors.
