David Lynch and Mark Frost are the creators of the iconic ‘90s series “Twin Peaks,” one of the weirdest shows to air on the small screen and one that has caused many sleepless nights for its viewers. Just hearing those iconic chords of the show's theme is enough to send chills down your spine.

You might soon get that feeling again because, it seems that “Twin Peaks” is making a comeback. Both Frost and Lynch have taken on their Twitter accounts to post the same cryptic message, taken from their show: “That gum you like is going to come back in style! #damngoodcoffee.”

Lynch and Frost post Twin Peaks quote at the same time, fans freak out

You might recognize the line as being spoken on the show by the mysterious Man from Another Place, played but Michael J Anderson. The hashtag, however, can be only attributed to Special Agent Dale Cooper played by Kyle MacLachlan who managed to turn it into a sort of catchphrase during the show's run.

Lynch has been avoiding talking about a possible sequel to the series, but he's always left the door open on that possibility. The desire from fans is definitely there, as earlier this year, in February, when a casting call for the role of a waitress in connection with Twin Peaks hit the net, speculations immediately surfaced that the sequel was coming.

It turned out to be a false alarm, as the producers were simply putting together an introductory video for the Blu-Ray version of the series that was being launched on its anniversary, but it showed that the public was still excited about a new series.

The release of the “Fire Walk With Me” spinoff which included 90 minutes of deleted scenes is believed to be responsible for the revival of public interest in the series.

Lynch has been talking about a sequel and NBC claimed it was keen to shoot it

To add fire to the flames, Kyle MacLachlan and David Lynch posed for a photo together recently, as they sat down for lunch as part of a charity event. The two have been friends for a long time, having worked on “Dune,” “Blue Velvet” and “Twin Peaks.”

NBC execs have also expressed interest in shooting a new revival of the show, so all the pieces of the puzzle are in place. Which means that the mysterious tweets could actually mean that “Twin Peaks” is coming back.

Fans on Twitter have already begun to show their excitement and anticipation at seeing the story pick up where it last left off, decades ago. More than anything, people want to get to the bottom of the mystery of the Laura Palmer murder.
