Simon Cowell wants David Hasselhoff to replace him on the panel of Britain’s Got Talent, says report

Big changes are taking place with all the major talent televised competitions, both in the US and the UK. With Simon Cowell getting ready to launch the US version of X Factor, reports are saying David Hasselhoff will be brought in to replace him on Britain’s Got Talent.

Piers Morgan is already out of the picture – and so will Simon be too, claims a report in The Sun, cited by the Daily Mail. As such, replacements are needed and pretty fast while we’re at it.

With only Amanda Holden as an original member, producers have to come up with two new judges before auditions for another season begin.

For the time being, they seem to have decided on bringing The Hoff as a stand-in for Cowell, who will no longer be able to judge BGT because of commitments in the US with the new X Factor.

Fans must already be aware that David is not a new face on shows of this type, since he’s already acted as judge on the US version of the show, America’s Got Talent, but was “dropped” among speculation of an alcohol relapse.

Apparently, despite all this, Simon himself has called David to make him the offer – and the latter is understandably ecstatic about the idea and the possibilities it offers.

“David was delighted to receive the call as he really enjoyed his time on America’s Got Talent,” a well-informed (but unnamed) insider explains for the tabloid.

“He is popular in the UK and loves the country so for him it is a dream opportunity. You might say it’s ironic Simon asked David to replace him after he was dropped in America,” the spy goes on to say.

It would seem the deal is nearly done. “But they are great pals and David is really looking forward to the auditions,” the source continues.

As of now, no official announcement in this sense has been made. Since Hasselhoff is getting ready for the launch of his own reality show, The Hasselhoffs, (out on December 5), more on this should emerge in the following days.
