Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly considering a new campaign that will make California more attractive to tourists and that will, this way, generate plenty of profit. In order to present Cali to those who are not familiar with its beauty or what it has to offer, the Governor will team up with none other than LA Galaxy star David Beckham, The Sun informs.

With such two huge names involved in the same sentence, it’s no wonder rumor has it Schwarzenegger is looking to invest good money in the campaign, the aforementioned publication says. However, it will not be taxpayers’ money gone down the drain since, if there’s anything that needs to be sold, there is no better person to do it than the British “golden boy” David Beckham, the Governor believes.

“David Beckham is to star alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in TV ads promoting California to tourists. Becks, 34, will be filmed playing football on a Los Angeles beach for the commercials also featuring state governor Arnie and Hollywood actor Rob Lowe. The LA Galaxy player was said to be ‘honored’ to take part in the ads alongside Arnie, 62 – famous for his ‘I’ll be back’ phrase in the ‘Terminator’ movies.” The Sun writes, citing sources close enough to Schwarzenegger to know his plans for encouraging tourism in California.

As of now, no other details on the upcoming campaign have yet transpired in the media, although unnamed and reportedly reliable sources vouch that it will be the biggest advertising move tourism has ever seen. A date for starting to shoot for the TV commercial or an estimated release timeframe are also aspects that need some clarification, since the source of the British tabloid can offer none.

“It will be a massive campaign. It shows the Governor believes David is a big catch in getting tourists to visit.” the source explains for The Sun. As a matter of fact, Schwarzenegger is convinced the campaign will be a smashing hit despite Beckham’s latest troublesome runs, what with being booed by fans on the field and getting into almost physical confrontations with supporters. “David has had some stick recently, but is doing what he does best – playing good football and scoring goals.” the source adds.
