David Arquette tries to break up fight at Lakers game, is knocked to the ground by mistake

David Arquette, husband to Courteney Cox Arquette and, for many years, one of the worst dressed actor (though no less lovable for it), was involved in a violent altercation the other night, at the Staples Center. The star tried to get in between a bouncer and an unruly fan to make them calm down and saw himself caught in the middle of the altercation, the Daily Mail informs.

Cameras caught the exact moment when the fight broke at the end of the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns, whom they beat 128-107 in the playoffs. There is no doubt that Arquette is trying to restrain the violent fan, who is seen in one pic clearly about to hit the bouncer. However, as the latter musters strength to push the fan off of him, David is also hit and knocked to the ground.

“Arquette, 38, rushed to the aid of the bouncer who had been pinned to the ground by an unruly fan who had rushed the court after the game finished. In the fracas, Arquette himself ended up on the floor when the security guard accidentally bumped the actor as he overcame the fan,” the Daily Mail says of the altercation. However, in true pictures speak louder than a thousand words, photos snapped on the occasion of the incident reveal just how aggressive the fan was.

“Michael Roth, vice president of communications for AEG, which operates Staples Center, confirmed the incident: ‘At the end of the game, a fan came out of the stands and out on to the court. Any time a fan breaches the court, you don’t know what their intentions are. We approached him and asked him to leave and when he didn’t want to leave, there was some force used’,” the same publication further says.

As per the same report, David Arquette is a fixture at all Los Angeles Lakers, always sitting front row with male friends – except for last month, when he donated his tickets to a war veteran. For photos of the incident, please refer here.
