As it has been a while since ADATA released its last portable storage device, it has formally launched a new one, called DashDrive Durable HD650.

As far as portable HDDs go, it has a more complex case design than usual, with a black and white pattern reminiscent of fabric and a red shell, or half-shell (can come in black too).

It uses the USB 3.0 interface to communicate with computers, and other devices featuring the technology, while the triple layer construction protects the insides from shock.

Speaking of protection, the case isn't there just for show. The acrylic material is also scratch-resistant.

Other features include a blue LED status indicator and a capacity of 500 GB or 1 TB.

All in all, it has all it needs to succeed. Too bad we don't know the price, since it's the only potential deal-breaker left.
