Dark Souls 2 producer Takeshi Miyazoe has stated that he has no intention of releasing any downloadable content for the game, because he wants to deliver a full experience from the get-go.

The original game's PC port was plagued by a host of problems from day one, and Miyazoe admitted that it was rushed due to a PC version not being included in the original development plan, as reported by Edge.

Following the pressure from international fans, the team released a version as fast as possible, and the community eventually solved the many issues through modding.

This time around, the producer assures its North American and European fans that the second iteration is being developed with a PC version in mind, which will ensure a good overall experience, also allowing for good keyboard and mouse controls, although using a controller is still recommended.

“For Dark Souls 2, we don't even expect any additional downloadable content because we want to deliver a full game, the full experience, to fans who purchase the package from day one.

“We did do additional content for Dark Souls, but generally downloadable content for Dark Souls II is not really being considered,” Miyazoe commented on From Software's plans regarding future DLC.

Regarding the recent trend of Japanese classics such as Tekken and Soul Calibur taking the free-to-play route, he said that the Dark Souls IP was still too fresh for that.

“Buy the package and you'll get the full experience, and you'll have as much fun as anybody else. Spending a couple dollars on certain items does not help the experience. So no free-to-play yet,” he further added, stating that From Software didn't want to allow players to pay for an advantage.

Miyazoe mentioned that neither From Software nor Namco considered a Wii U or PlayStation Vita port for the game.

Dark Souls 2 will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, starting March 11, 2014.
