14 other people have been injured by flying debris in the Houston crash

A fan has videotaped the Grand Prix race where champ Dario Franchitti was injured on Sunday. The phone cam footage shows Franchitti's car slam into the stands in Houston.

According to USA Today, 13 fans and one IndyCar Series official were injured by flying debris when Franchitti's vehicle hit the catchfence. Two fans incurred more serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Franchitti hurt his spine, going into surgery after breaking two vertebrae. His right ankle has been fractured and a surgical intervention followed on Sunday.

He is being treated at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. The three-time Indy 500 winner also suffered a concussion during the impact on the last lap of the race.
