Daniel Radcliffe, star of the “Harry Potter” film franchise, is preparing to move to New York to star in a Broadway play. To make himself more at home here, he’s also invested a lot of money in his bachelor pad.

The actor reportedly bought the apartment in West Village about a year ago for an estimated £4 million but has never lived there.

Since this will literally be his first time away from home for such a long time, he wants to have some fun time – and has invested another £100,000 in making the apartment to suit his taste.

A friend of Daniel’s has spoken to the Daily Star and confirmed that, when he leaves for the US, the actor leaves with the intention of sowing his wild seeds, as the saying goes.

“Dan’s flying out to New York for the musical and will let rip with girls as he is single and a long way away from his family and best friends,” the friend says.

Daniel will be seen next in the Broadway play “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” and is supposedly determined to make the most of his time away from family and friends.

Because of this, he had the apartment all primmed out and has turned it, with some help, into quite a fancy bachelor pad, worthy of someone with his money and reputation.

“He’s created a cool, stylish bachelor pad to bring home beautiful girls, when he wishes. He called in a fancy interior designer to create special lighting, soft furnishings and a banging music system, to get the party started,” the same friend says.

“His house is absolutely amazing and would impress any lady friend he invites over,” adds the sources.

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton, for instance, has pictures of what is presumably Daniel’s refurbished apartment – and, indeed, it looks quite stylish, yet very comfortable at the same time.

“He’s really excited to be 21 and living in his own pad in New York. He’s tarted it up to the nines. He’s young, free and single in New York, with a fantastic apartment, and a stack of cash in his pocket,” the insider further dishes.

While the fact that Daniel may have spent £100,000 in making his £4 million NYC apartment look better is highly likely, the part about him being set on causing havoc with the girls here sounds a bit far-fetched – after all, this is the same guy who, not long ago, was saying he didn’t see himself as a Hollywood star.
