The “Harry Potter” star would love to get inked, but his parents won't allow it

What's the point of being a world-famous actors with millions in the bank and millions of fans if you can't even get one lousy tattoo? That's the question that's keeping “Harry Potter” actor Daniel Radcliffe awake at night, and the answer has so far eluded him.

Speaking with the Daily Star, the British young actor has revealed that he's long been wanting to get a tattoo done, but that he's found his parents were reticent to the idea, and that's putting it mildly. The actor, who is now 24 years old, has given the matter a lot of thought, and he's even decided on what he would like to have inked on his body and where.

It turns out that it's not a dragon, a rose, a flaming skull or a magic wand, but a quote from his favorite playwright, Samuel Beckett. The only thing keeping from getting himself inked is the fact that his mom and dad would be angry if they found out.

“I want the line from Beckett - ‘Try, fail, try again and fail better’ - either on my arm or chest. Although I shouldn't really talk about tattoos in case my mum and dad hear about it,” he tells the newspaper.

That's quite a conundrum he's gotten himself there, but chances are that Daniel is going to respect his parents' wish, just because he's that kind of nice guy. So nice in fact, that he says he isn't even bothered by the Harry Potter craze anymore.

As you can image, the boy who played Harry Potter in all of the movies gets a lot of attention anywhere he goes, and Daniel has been working hard to escape that fame by doing other challenging roles. But that doesn't mean that he'll ever be anything else than the boy wizard in the eyes of the world.

“I don't get nearly as annoyed as some of my friends do. All my friends think it's rude but I don't think twice about it. There will always be people with ‘Harry Potter’ books to sign and I have accepted that,” Daniel explains.

Speaking about tattoos some time ago, Daniel mentioned that he thought they were “really, really cool” but he wasn't referring to just any old tattoos either. You see, like a self-respecting artist that he is, Daniel has a strong view about what he considers cool and what not.

When someone asked him about Harry Styles' tattoos, which are random and include a ship, a giant butterfly, and a pair of branches on his hips, Harry shuddered, “life prison tattoos? Isn't that what you have when you've done five years?”
