Whereas Will Smith was, not long ago, voted the most sought after actor of the past year, proving he had the most appeal for moviegoers, a fact clearly showed in box-office sales, as far as action movies are concerned, Daniel Craig is the man. The latest 007 agent has won a poll carried out by Hello! Magazine, being closely followed by Shia LeBeouf on the second spot.

2008 was packed with action films, so it was only natural that the competition for best man be as tight as possible. In the end, fans have decided that it’s Daniel Craig who made the best action man as the deadly and swift James Bond agent in “Quantum of Solace,” with 27 percent of the final vote. Shia, star of “Eagle Eye,” came in second but not before putting up a decent fight: the young actor got 25 percent of the final vote.

Moreover, it was not just for the first two positions that competition was fierce, as only 20 votes or so separated the third from the fourth position. First up came Christian Bale as Batman in “The Dark Knight,” with Robert Downey Jr. as “Iron Man” hot on his heels. British James McAvoy scored number five in the chart thanks to his part in the heart-stopping flick “Wanted,” while Brendan Fraser landed on the sixth position with his performance in “The Mummy.”

Newcomer Ben Barnes, who got his first major break in “The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian,” came in at seven – “a position he presumably hopes to better as his career takes off,” as Hello! Magazine reports. Longtime established action stars like Mark Wahlberg, Will Smith and Harrison Ford rounded up the top ten chart, on the eight, ninth and tenth position, respectively.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Sylvester Stallone were seemingly the least credible as action stars, since they did not even make it into the top ten.
