Konami has announced that it plans to release the new Dance Dance Revolution on the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation 2 home-gaming console from Sony on October 27. The Wii version of the title will have Hottest Party 3 added to its name, while the PS3 version will be called X2.

The overall library of Dance Dace Revolution is set to include more than 40 tracks with the highlights being: Ne-Yo with “Close,” Coldplay playing “Viva La Vida,” Rick Astley with “Never Gonna Give You Up,” Lady Gaga with “Just Dance,” Depeche Mode with “Enjoy The Silence,” Vanilla Ice playing “Ice Ice Baby,” Natasha Bedingfield playing “Pocket Full of Sunshine,” Pitbull with “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and the Black Eyed Peas playing “Let's Get it Started.”

The Wii Dance Dance Revolution is set to offer support for the Balance Board in a new game mode in which players will be able to move their hips, their waist and their hands to perform the dance moves in a new, more involving way. The normal Dance Dance Revolution controller can also be used in the normal way for those who prefer the more classic gameplay, which they have grown accustomed to.

The X2 variant for the PlayStation 2 is set to offer a new mode, called Dice Master, which is based on letting chance actually choose which challenge each player will face in their quest to becoming the ultimate dancing champion.

Konami is also planning to hold competitions for Dance Dance Revolution to mark the release of the latest version of the game. Local contests will be held across the country in December and the final is set to take place in Las Vegas with crowds relied on to choose the final Dance Dance Revolution champion of the United States.
