Konami announces two brand new titles

Konami knows that Nintendo's Wii is the perfect console for fun family friendly games, so whenever it's not doing a Metal Gear game, it turns its head to the Wii and starts developing. And since the developers were in a playful mood, they decided to create not one, but two games based on the popular Winx Club cartoon series - one for the Wiis and one for DS handhelds. Both titles will hit the stores in 2009.

The Wii game has a working title of DancingStage Winx Club, which we truly hope they'll change into something more appealing as soon as possible. But, after all, it's not the title that matters most, but the gameplay and Konami seems to have it: this Wii dancing game will combine elements from its DancingStage Hottest Party title with settings and songs from the Winx Club universe. And this seems like a perfect recipe for success!

The game will also come with a special dance mat controller, which allows players to match a series of directional arrows with the corresponding foot movements, while the Wiimote is used to match arm movements. It seems a bit complicated at first, but I'm sure that in the end it will prove to be a great experience!

The Nintendo DS title under development at Konami is called Winx Club Secret Diary 2009 and comes with a different approach to the Winx Club world. Basically a personal diary/organizer, this little software turns the Nintendo DS into a book that allows users to store key dates or text messages, chat with friends via Wi-Fi or play minigames - everything in a very customizable environment.

Also, you will be able to store personal information of friends, while horoscopes, personality tests, alarms, calculators and many more can be easily accessed. Winx Club Secret Diary 2009 also features lots of information on all the Winx characters, and can be password-protected to keep your secrets safe. I prefer the Wii dancing game, though!
