Once you're done with crafting your own circuit, choose the car you know will run smooth on it

Codemasters has just revealed further details on their Race Driver: Create & Race for the Nintendo DS. Apparently, there's new fun to be had with the game's custom circuit construction kit. You'll be able to make anything from simple but intense speed ovals, to tracks filled with hair-pins and chicanes, and when you're done you can examine it by taking a dynamic 3D fly-through tour of the circuit, or even take out one of the cars on a test drive. Sounds good huh?

Developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS, Race Driver: Create & Race is an innovative addition to the renowned series, tweaked especially for Nintendo's handheld. Basically, the best part about it is that it gives players the creative freedom to use an advanced track designer, but also race on real world circuits.

Another impressive feature added to the game is that you can choose to create your tracks using the free draw tool. Simply draw the track you want on the grid and the tool will automatically lay down the correct corresponding set pieces, rotating them where necessary. And if you're not satisfied with your "handy-work" just use the rubber and erase what doesn't fit into the scenery.

"Once you've conquered the 32 in-game tracks, which include Silverstone, Bathhurst, Nurburgring, then Create & Race players can really challenge themselves and their friends with a never-ending number of track combinations," said Jamie Firth, Producer of Race Driver: Create & Race at Codemasters. "There's nothing sweeter than inviting up to three friends to race on your very own track? and owning them on it!"

OK, now that you've already hand-crafted your own circuits, it's time to bring up to three friends and race against them over single-card play sharing or four player Wi-Fi-Connection. There are about 20 cars to choose from, so it shouldn't be a problem to use whatever car you know is better for the circuit you've just created. So you're cheating a bit, who will know, right?
