Not too long ago, mobile phone maker Motorola and wireless carrier Verizon announced plans to unveil “the next generation” of DROID device on June 23, only two days from now. According to the reports around the web, the unveiling would have as subject none other than the Motorola DROID X, which is already present on Verizon's website, and which also emerged on Motorola's.

There is little doubt left when it comes to the new mobile phone Motorola and Verizon would announce officially on June 23, that's for sure. However, the specific details available on what the new device is set to come to the market with are missing. All that was unveiled until now is that it should include a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, coupled with a photo snapper with 720p video recording capabilities, and with an HDMI out port.

While these are officially unveiled details on the device, some other info on it also emerged, this time around from unofficial sources. According to a recent article on phone Arena, we should see the Motorola DROID X landing on shelves with a wide range of applications pre-loaded. The Motorola DROID X MB810 should be officially announced this week, and the said software solutions would be available for users right out of the box.

Among the applications Motorola and Verizon plan on putting on DROID X, we can count a solution for Blockbuster on-line, in addition to the popular SWYPE on-screen keyboard, or an FM Radio. Moreover, the handset should also include Motorola Phone Portal, Skype, Backup Assistant, City ID, Motorola DLNA and Visual Voice Mail, along with Verizon's 3G Mobile Hotspot, which offers users the possibility to share the 3G connection with up to five other Wi-Fi-enabled devices (details on the pricing of this feature should emerge soon).

All in all, the DROID X should prove a nice successor to the highly popular Motorola DROID, yet it still remains to be seen when exactly it might be put on sale, as well as what price tag it should feature. Those interested in learning these can sign-up on Motorola's website to receive further info.
