Amazon Wireless hits once again with a new deal on the Motorola DROID RAZR, which is now available for purchase for just $169.99 (130 EUR).

However, the offer is only available for new customers who are willing to commit to a new two-year agreement. Existing customers who want to upgrade can purchase the DROID RAZR for $229.99 (175 EUR).

Those who get the DROID RAZR and activate the hotspot feature also qualify to receive a $100 (75 EUR) Amazon.com gift card. This is a limited time offer.

Motorola DROID RAZR for Verizon Wireless “packs strength and smarts into a stylish package.” One of the thinnest smartphones available in the market, at only 7.1mm, the DROID RAZR was built to last.

The back of the phone is reinforced with KEVLAR fiber, while the large touchscreen is protected against scratches and scrapes by Corning Gorilla Glass. In addition, the splash-guard coating makes it water resistant.

Although the DROID RAZR is powered by Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system, Motorola confirmed and explained when and how it will upgrade its Android flagship smartphone to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Android fans who are having second thoughts about the DROID RAZR should know that the smartphone will receive the Android 4.0 update in early 2012.

On the back, the devices boasts an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front side there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.

The phone is equipped with a powerful enough 1.2 GHz dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor, complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The amount of 16GB of internal memory can be expanded via microSD slot up to 32GB (16GB memory card included).

Even though Amazon slashed $130 (100 EUR) off the phone’s price, there’s a high chance that the DROID RAZR will go even cheaper by year’s end.
