Sunnyvale, California-based Advanced Micro Devices has recently launched a new chipset, designed to provide mainstream users with support for the latest AM3 processors and DDR3 memory. The chipset has been quickly adopted by motherboard makers, which they have included in some of their latest designs. On that note, DFI, one of the world's leading vendors of high-performance desktop motherboards, has recently announced the introduction of its new LANParty Blood Iron 785G-M35 motherboard, built on the aforementioned 785G chipset and part of the company's Blood Iron series of high-performance mobos.

One of the main features of the new motherboard from DFI consists of the fact that it has been featured with the company's “ABS II” CPU Auto Upgrade technology, which has been designed to allow users to increase the speed of their processor, consequently boasting performance. The technology is intended to make CPU overclocking easier for the end-user, eliminating the need for complicated set-ups.

Aside from the Auto-overclocking feature, the new motherboard has also been designed to provide users with the integrated ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics with 128MB of DDR3 Sideport Memory, support for socket AM3-compatible processors, and dual-channel DDR3 memory. Boasting an mATX form factor, which can be incorporated into a home-built HTPC system, the new Blood Iron motherboard will provide users with one PCI-Express x16 slot for an additional graphics card to boost performance. There's also Gigabit LAN, 7.1-channel HD Audio and a digital PWM to deliver a power efficiency of 90%.

Thanks to the integration of AMD's latest mainstream chipset, the 785G, the new Blood Iron motherboard from DFI can provide its users with an HDMI, DVI and D-SUB connectivity, directly out of the box. Unfortunately, the pricing and availability details are yet to be confirmed by the company.
