The Apacer BLADE is ready for Haswell-E PCs

Even though there is a single CPU collection with support for DDR4 memory, and a small collection at that, memory products based on the latest DDR specification have been coming out in a steady stream. Apacer just contributed to that stream.

Despite the fact that DDR4 RAM can reach well beyond 4 GB and 6 GB capacities, makers of DIMMs haven't bothered much with those levels.

In a way, this makes an ironic sort of sense. When even DDR3 can still be too overkill for many games, pushing forward DDR4 RAM of twice the top capacity, or more, would be so far beyond overkill that no one would pay for it.

Thus, products like the new Apacer BLADE DDR4 overclocking memory modules can be considered tame compared to the stuff we would otherwise be seeing.

The Apacer BLADE DDR4 RAM

The new memory modules don't look any more like swords, knives or any random sharp weapons than any other memory line in the world. Indeed, they look less like that than certain others. Still, they will definitely “cut” through most competing RAM kits.

They aren't the only DDR3 offer with 3.3 GHz clock, but that doesn't really make them too much less likely to sell in the grand scheme of things.

There are actually six products in the BLADE series, but the 3,200 MHz is the highest performance they can achieve.

That offer, as well as the 3,200 MHz and 3000 MHz modules, work at 1.35V, which is the equivalent of DDR3 low-voltage products but considered high for DDR4. You will find the memory sold in kits of four 4 GB modules at this performance level.

The other three clock options (2,400 MHz, 2,668 MHz and 2,800 MHz) have modules working at 1.2V (the normal DDR4 setting) and are featured in both 16 GB capacities (4 x 4 GB modules) and 32 GB (4 x 8 GB modules).

All the memory products use Saber heatspreaders with 3D saw and Diamond High Bright Cutting blade design.

Availability

The Apacer BLADE DDR4 RAM, with 50% better bandwidth than DDR3 and Intel XMP 2.0 overclocking technology support, should go up for sale soon, if they haven't already. Prices are unknown, sadly.

Then again, when you have no choice but to get the best hardware for a DDR4 PC (X99 motherboard, Haswell-E CPU), the price is likely just a distant secondary concern regardless.
