Laptop to be upgraded to Atom N455

Even though Intel hasn't even gotten around to officially introducing its new collection of Atom N Series central processing units, online retailers have already started putting certain devices based on them up for pre-order. In fact, while Toshiba is busily preparing to release the NB305-10F, HP is making strides of its own and might actually give Toshiba a run for its money with its Mini 210.

HP's Mini netbook series has been selling quite well (as all netbooks have, in fact), but the market is steadily becoming saturated, which is why it is not growing as rapidly as PC suppliers might wish. This makes a hardware upgrade all the more desirable, as better performance is the only thing that can convince those that already own netbooks to buy newer models.

To make a step in this direction, and give end-users something to look forward to, HP is going to put the Atom N455 inside the HP Mini 210. Armed with the same clock as the N450 (1.66GHz) but with support for DDR3 memory, the mobile PC should arrive to the market soon enough, considering that its black and silver versions are already listed on Amazon.de. As for the rest of its specifications (memory, storage and graphics), the Mini 210 is not really all that different from other electronics of its kind.

The laptop has a hard drive with a storage capacity of 250GB and 1GB DDR3 memory. The configuration also includes the Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics and a 10.1-inch, LED-backlit display. Not all information on the specifications is available, but it can be assumed that the netbook comes with Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth (as it has come to be expected from all newcomers in this segment). As for pricing, the listings suggest that end-users will be able to acquire this model for the fairly reasonable sum of 349 Euro.
