They’ve been dating for seven years and engaged for two: “SATC” actress Cynthia Nixon and her partner Christine Marinoni are now happy parents to a baby boy. Christine gave birth just recently, her rep confirms.

Cynthia and Christine are considered one of the “golden” couples in Hollywood, mostly because they’ve managed to make it so long in an industry where married time is measured in months, and not years.

At the same time, they’re also very private, only speaking about their life as a couple when they’re using their popularity to draw attention to issues like social equality and civil rights.

This, of course, would explain how the media never even got wind of the fact that Christine was pregnant with the couple’s first child together.

People magazine reports that Christine and the newborn son are in excellent health.

“It’s a boy for Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni! Marinoni gave birth to the couple’s son, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, on Monday, Feb. 7, Nixon’s rep confirms,” the magazine writes.

“Christine and baby are doing great,” the actress’ rep says for the aforementioned publication.

“Nixon, 44, and Marinoni, 43, began dating in 2004 and announced their engagement in 2009. The SATC star has two children, Samantha, 14, and Charles, 8, from her previous relationship with teacher Danny Mozes,” People further writes.

Cynthia and Christine are not the only couple to choose to have a pregnancy kept from the media: a short while ago, Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban announced the birth of their daughter by a surrogate, completely surprising everybody.

Sir Elton John and partner David Furnish welcomed a son as well, announcing the new addition to the family over Christmas but only after he was born.

However, since interest in Cynthia and Christine has always been great, especially in terms of learning what their “recipe” for such a lasting relationship is, it wouldn’t be that far-fetched to expect an interview with the new parents soon.

Keep an eye on this space for when this comes out.
