North Korea has never admitted it, but South Korea says its neighbor has launched thousands of cyberattacks against the country’s systems over the past years.

According to South Korean ruling party MP Chung Hee-Soo, cited by AFP, the financial losses caused by North Korea’s cyberattacks are as high as $805 million (€596 million).

The cyberattacks include virus-laden emails, malware deployments and website hacks.

Chung has revealed that North Korea has launched 6,392 attacks against South Korea’s military since 2010. Media websites, government agencies, broadcasters and banks have also been targeted in the attacks launched by Pyongyang.

The Seoul lawmakers have also noted that South Korea’s cyber capabilities are incomparable to the ones of North Korea, which is believed to run a 3,000-strong cyber war unit.
