Now that the B3 revision of the Cougar Point chipset has started to ship, many companies have announced they are yet again ready to sell Sandy Bridge desktops, and CyberPower is no exception as it has announced that is now taking orders for custom-built desktop gaming systems, based on Intel’s second generation Core i7, i5, and newly introduced, i3 CPUs.

Orders can be placed as we speak and all models can be easily customized with a number of hard disk drives and/or SSD storage solutions, optical drives, memory, and other peripheral component options at the company's website.

“Beginning today, CyberPower will offer the Intel Sandy Bridge processor with fixed “Cougar” B3 chipsets across its entire lineup of award winning Gamer Xtreme and Infinity models and through its custom Configurator.

CyberPower customers can be assured of ordering a custom system that brings exciting new performance features to desktop PC gaming as well as HD video, 3D games, multitasking, multimedia, or sharing photos,” reads the company's official press release.

The company's most advanced model to start shipping again is the Gamer Xtreme 4200 desktop which is powered by an Intel Core i7 2600K unlocked processor and 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 memory installed on an Asus P8P67 Pro Intel P67 chipset motherboard.

In addition, the system also packs dual Nvidia GTX 580 graphics cards configured in SLI, an 80GB Intel X25-M SSD and a 2TB hard drive, an LG Blu-ray rewriter as well as a 1KW power supply unit.

Various other configurations are also available and each system can be customized according to the customer's wishes.

On January 31, Intel announced the detection of a design error in the new Sandy Bridge-based 6-series support chip, also known as Cougar Point, which could, in time, slow the transfer rates of the 3Gbps SATA ports available on such motherboards.
